The generosity of the Albanian people astonished me. Poor as they were, they shared what little food they had with the Americans.

Fascinating story about a little known incident in Albania during WWII. If only one of the nurses involved had still been alive to give her story. Kept your interest throughout the book.

This is what they call a "gripping story, and it's true. I felt like I went through it with the people involved. It also includes historical details woven in, which means I learned something. Very thoroughly researched.
