“The Profession of Violence” paints a picture like no other. The author is immensely skilled in articulating every detail of Ron & Reg’s lives and provides background information along with characteristics of their operation previously unknown (to me). Learning about the methods of the operation and details of their social networks allows the reader to become part of the story and feel as though they were a member of “The Firm”. Well worth the read!

This is a fascinating read about a unique pair of criminals and the society that enabled them to carry on their reign of terror. I only wish the book had included more information about the twins' lives during their incarceration. I would like to know more about their marriages and criminal activities while behind bars. Finally, I wonder why the author seems to present Reggie as exclusively heterosexual, when more and more stories are coming out which allege that he was bisexual.
