See her newer edition from 2015 for more recipes and good info about apples. She praises Red Delicious, but hardly mentions Honeycrisp. I think she could be more aware & promoting of the newer & better varieties that have been released in the last 10 years.

This seems to be an updated & expanded version of her 2001 edition of the same name. The 2001 edition was a republishing of the original 1984 text. It's a good general book about apples with a lot of useful tips & history of the fruit. Her writing style is easy to read yet informative. Recipes are
one per page (a big plus for us cooks) and clearly laid out. A great reference & cookbook for the average cook or the apple lover.

This cookbook has some great recipes if you like apples. The book lacked pictures of the finished products! Pictures make cookbooks better! At the end of the book the author includes a listing of the different varieties of apples and the best uses, which is useful to the reader/cook! There are definitely some recipes such as "Apple Cinnammon Squares" that teesn would find of interest and would be able to make. A cookbook worth checking out if you like apples and baking!
