I would have enjoyed this book much more if Irving gave his audience intellectual credit. Instead of playing out the events and letting the reader come to a conclusion, Irving preaches and explains the obvious--more than once.

What a wonderful novel!
The narrator has quite a voice range!
If you're a person questioning the meaning of life at all ( who doesn't?) or especially if you're an English teacher...you'll relate strongly.
