"When Victor Narraway, Thomas Pitt's close friend and former boss, and his new wife, Lady Vespasia, travel to Jerusalem for a Christmas holiday, Vespasia cannot shake the feeling that they are being watched. Then, an old man leaves a mysterious envelope for Narraway--and is murdered soon after. But it is only when the couple is ambushed the following morning that they realize they are in grave danger. Armed only with the instructions from the message in the envelope, they immediately set out on a journey through the Holy Land...while their unknown enemy pursues them all the while."--

This book started out interesting then it became so far fetched and into religion. Honestly, I did not understand three quarters of it. I had no idea what the characters were saying. It was too philosophical and religious for me. If you are not christian, this book does not make any sense whatsoever.....I love Anne Perry, but this book.........

Much prefer Perry's usual Christmas mystery. This piece was too mystical, very unbelievable and quite confusing.

While this looks like a usual holiday offering, this book is very insightful and inspiring. A wonderfully perceptive read, and one I highly recommend.
