it's a boring & repetitive. too much irrelevant details.
Mary is supposed to be kind but i found her pushy, self righteous, emotional impulsive, also she seems quite ignorant about laws.

I always enjoy Lisa Scottoline's books and this was no exception. It was an easy read with a surprise ending. I did find Mary to be a little unbelievable and intense regarding the 10 year boy and opposing counsel was over the top but the storyline was good.

Great book. Good plot and characters. Loved the ending. Have to get more from this author.

I would be generous enough to give this one a 3.5. Mary DiNunzio has always been my fave of the group since I first ready about her in "Everywhere Mary Went" and have been reading about the girl lawyers ever since. I thought that Mary's opposing counsel was a bit over the top in his machinations against her ten-year-old client. Another thing I noticed was the small number of days that it takes for the events in this book to take place. Mary must have the super power of multiplying hours!

The element of suspense does continue to grow throughout and there is a happy ending with resolution of the mysteries in the plot. So, you get to read about Mary, see her solve the problems of the world and have a happy ending, too. That's enough to make me watch for the next Scottoline book to come out.

Another great book by this author. It kept my interest and beckoned me to keep reading to see how it turned out. Recommend!

I would probably have to classify "Damaged" as an emotional thriller - if there is such a genre. Mary diNunzio falls for a little 10 year old dyslexic boy Patrick who seems to attract trouble to himself - starting with bullying and heading all the way to murder. It is good he has Mary in his corner since she never gives up. The thrills at the end are somewhat unbelievable but Scottoline is probably catering to all groups of her readers. All in all an exciting pageturner - don't start this book unless you have time to finish it in one sitting.

Very good book in the series. We all love "Mare" DiNunzio and her big-hearted family. When a perfect storm of bad stuff happens to a 10-yr-old boy Mary takes the case and fights to become foster mother (not guardian ad litem as the summary says). As usual our heroine spends plenty of time running around and dodging bad guys. The only bizarre thing is her adversary in a case against the boy and school district is an incredible jerk but then does a huge about face at the end. Just weird. Otherwise, a very good ending.
