Sachiko has gone through so much in her life, and I fully appreciate that she is able and willing to share her horrific story, being only a mile away from the blast of the atomic bomb. The atrocities of WWII haunt me as a reader, and I can only imagine what they've done to those who experienced it first-hand. This beautiful, scary, and truthful account of Sachiko is compelling and thought-provoking.
