Had a really difficult time getting into this book. Ended up returning after a few chapters.

Moyes doesn’t disappoint in this story revolving around a woman, who not only is struggling with a divorce, but is overshadowed by her perfect mom, a well-known lawyer. Add in a strong-willed young girl who is left on her own when her grandfather is hospitalized with a stroke. Include a horse being housed in the middle of London and you have a great story. Moyes really knows how to write a story that will capture the reader.

Such a beautiful and poignant story ! just as enjoyable as all her other works . Ms Moyes is a compassionate , sensitive author who knows how to convey the deep and troubling feelings of her characters , especially in this novel . An incredible read in which the reader cannot not get involved heart and soul !

I was so looking forward to this book and a good horse story, but it ended up being a disappointment. Both Natasha and Sarah were unlikeable characters. Too much time was spent on Natasha's marital problems and a court case she was working on. Sarah and her horse were the main draw for me and even that part was frustrating because I just didn't like her. The 2nd half picked up enough that I was able to finish it, but overall this book was just so-so.

I love Jojo Moyes, but just not could past the first chapter of this story. Very dry. Perhaps I will try it another time.

A patron review from the Adult Summer Reading Game: This is a lovely story of a young girl's struggle to do what she thinks is right for herself and her horse when her only family, her grandfather, falls ill. In the process she impacts the lives of others trying to help him.

Just discovered this author after reading her most recent book "Me before you". Loved it so much, I am going back and reading her earlier books. The Horse Dancer is great too, I have a feeling Jojo might have read Mary Stewart's Airs above the ground, certain emotional scene at the end reminded me of it. Highly recommend, bonus, if you are a horse lover!

Great story - hard to put down. Grandfather, granddaughter and their horse living together in England. G-father previously attended a prestigious riding academy and is trying to teach his G-daughter everything he learned there.

Due to unexpected turn of events, the G-daughter ends up temporarily living with a lawyer and her soon-to-be-ex-husband.

Author, JoJo Moyes, has written other books : Sheltering Rain, Foreign Fruit, The PeaCock Emporium, The Ship of Brides, Silver Bay and Night Music. Coming in hardcover in July 2010 is The Last Letter from your Lover.

Really enjoyed this book - an easy read but one that kept me wondering what the next chapter would bring.

Good read, but I'm torn between whether it should be an adult or teen bk.
