Her younger sister, Katherine, heir to the insecure and infertile Queen Mary and then to her sister Queen Elizabeth, faced imprisonment in the Tower when her pregnancy betrayed her secret marriage. Mary, the youngest Grey sister and a beautiful dwarf disregarded by the court, kept her own secrets, while avoiding Elizabeth's suspicious glare. This book was a slog. I kept reading purely because I was interested in how the events played out. I didn't previously know anything about the sisters of Jane Grey, so it was this that kept me reading. Otherwise, I'm sure I would have given it away. The author herself says this is the last of the Tudor books she will write and she has a new series planned. This was evident in the writing. It felt like she was going through the motions, the passion and intrigue found in others of the Tudor series was lacking.

I hate to say this about this author but the details of the first 6 chapters got to me. It was almost all rambling. I lost interest and tried everything to get thru it. If a book doesn t get to me within the first few chapters after trying over 4 times I give up.
