I loved, loved, loved this book. Candice Fox did a good job with character, place and all that other literary jazz. Looking forward to reading #2-Redemption Point because I care about the MC's and want to know what happens to them.

What a book!! There is damaged. There is quirky. And then there is Amanda! Amanda is mysterious and not willing to reveal anything about herself. She's also a spitfire and more than a little wacky. Some of her comments were an absolute scream, like: "I’m dead fascinated with your case. I’m so fascinated, someone should pin me in their hair and wear me to the races.”
And then there is Ted. Ted Conkaffey is hiding. He’s tired, sad and angry. However, he has had no choice other to accept what fate has dealt him to date. Then the geese found him. Amanda baffled him. The case he was drawn into working on with Amanda interested him. I found the stories behind Ted’s innocence and Amanda’s guilt were the best part of this book. I found the themes of criminal injustice, negligence, withholding or tampering with evidence making me feel angry and sad, as well as a little scared. I can't wait to read Redemption Point!!!

Plot. Intricately woven with three separate murder investigations, all these characters have complicated pasts.

Can’t say I enjoyed this book. I didn’t engage with the characters and the solutions at the end were totally unbelievable

Enjoyed this thriller - not the run of the mill character that is true. However once you get into their stories and learn about how these two people got where they were you soon like them and want to find out more about them. Like why does Amanda not want to be touched - or won't get in the car -the answer is chilling. As far is Ted is concerned this is what can happen to someone who is wrongly accused - the crowd mentality takes over and even though he is innocent his life is hell.

I believe that this is a beginning of a crime series with these two characters and I will be looking forward to more of their investigations.

Liked this book a lot. I have read all Candice Fox books. Crimson Lake is a book about two people accused of crimes. The journey from prision back into everyday life. They each handle the journey differently. The hate crimes, being harrassed by the police, and the media. The plot and strong characters made this a great book!

What a great crime thriller! Couldn't put it down and didn't want it to end. Looking forward to Redemption Point, Book 2.

A fast paced read with super characters. The ending was exciting and am looking forward to picking up the story in the follow-on novel, Redemption Point.

I chatted with Candice Fox at a mystery convention. She is not only a great person, but an awsome writer. Crimson Lake is full of fantastic characters, unique locations, with a wonderful plot full of conflict. All in all, a great read.
