Caro and Markus must decide if their love is more important than the fate of Akhaia when a powerful Archon offers to help Markos fight for the throne if Markos will marry his daughter.
Caro and Markos have settled into a routine: Wake up, eat breakfast, and try to figure out who might attempt to assassinate Markos today. His claim to the throne is shaky without the support of an army, but then a powerful Archon offers Markos the military might he needs in exchange for marrying his daughter. Markos and Caro must decide which is more important: their love for each other or the fate of Akhaia.

Whisper of the Tide feels much grander than Song of the Current and I loved it. Where Song of the Current is about meeting your fate head on, Whisper of the Tide is about defying your fate and taking it into your own hands. I love Caro and Markos so much and the way that they treat their relationship. There's also a wealth of strong women in this book, whether they be good, bad or in a grey area. They all are leaders and even the briefest appearances from some of them present complex characters.
