Some of the advice in this book is great, and could help out a lot of people! However, some of it is incredibly toxic. While I don't doubt that the author wrote this book with only the best of intentions, a lot of the advice in here was stuff that I used to buy into, and it really screwed me up.
If you have depression, PLEASE don't try to "change your story" and "let it go", any more than you would try this strategy with a broken leg. If you broke your leg, and decided to "change your story" by "recognizing" that you were gaining rest, and attention in the form of treatment, or people signing your cast, for example, and then simply decided to let it go and act as if nothing were wrong, you would only be gaslighting yourself and exacerbating your problem. If you break your leg, the solution is obviously to seek treatment as soon as you notice the problem.
You need to have the same energy for mental health problems that you have for physical problems. If you have depression, it's likely that you have a chemical imbalance in your brain. If not, your problem is still more serious than anything that can be solved by just "choosing to let it go", and especially if you've been struggling with it for a while, and it is within your means to get help, get help. If you are in treatment, stay in treatment. You cannot solve serious problems by choosing to let them go.
Please don't make the same mistakes that I did.

How is this book a best seller? I hated it and I couldn't get past the first few pages. To each his own.

I tried, I really did, but when she started talking about a "higher being", I had to put it down and return it. Disappointing!

Like other commenters have said, there’s nothing new in this book. But sometimes we need to hear things said a specific way to get them to sink in, so maybe the way the author writes will resonate with you.

Though the author curses an awful lot, I still think this was definitely worth the read.

A must read for everyone. I highly recommend even if all the suggestions made aren’t novel. She’s an excellent narrator and her common sense approach will resonate with most.

Too much blah, blah, blah. I struggled to complete it, and I would not recommend this book.

Pretty much all the same stuff I've read in self help books before. It's more like how to be an angel than a bad ass. Has some helpful encouragement in it but that's about it.

I am seeing mixed reviews about this book, and that's ok! We aren't all going to like the same book. But the title is pretty self-explanatory; how to stop doubting yourself and start living an awesome life. That's exactly what she talks about. She uses her own personal experiences to create a book to inspire you to go and do whatever you have been longing to do - I guess if you don't have a certain something you desire to do, or if you aren't lacking some self confidence then this book probably isn't for you. If yes, then I definitely recommend it; it inspired me and had some good tactics to help you get inspired and do what you desire.

Loosen your Bone, Wilma!

If you’re serious about changing your life, you’ll find a way. If you’re not, you’ll find an excuse.

Don’t get so tangled up in the stupid little stuff that you miss out on enjoying the people who have part ownership of your heart.
