A lot more surprises than I expected. Fans of the TV show "The Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D." will get a big kick out of it. I would have liked to see a few details of how exactly they modify a JET to fly in space and re-enter the atmosphere without burning up.

A Fun watch and a nice addition to the MCU the really does a nice job of picking up the comic book story lines as well.

Really enjoyable movie. This is a superhero action movie so don't looking for Oscar award performance like some people seemed to be. Just sit back and enjoy the movie like a kid. Have fun with this. It's a well made movie.

"Overall, I really liked Captain Marvel. I think the acting is good all around. All the characters were interesting and good additions in their own rights. I’m curious to see the events of this movie affecting future Marvel films, even though this one is set in the 90’s."

A flaming disappointment. It could be because of the Kree training, but Carol Danvers has the emotional range of a teacup and seems to communicate primarily with smirks.

Overall a good movie, with some cheesy comedic elements here n there, but the actors carry the movie through. Go in with a lighthearted attitude, and it'll be fun.

This film was overall a good movie. The plot of this movie is MARVELous (: The character development is okay compared to other Marvel movies. But however there were some lines that were pretty cheesy. The beginning is like Okay that's good but towards the end is like Okkkkkurrrrrr that is so good

Captain Marvel could be seen as Marvel's response to DC's Wonder Woman. (I'm talking about the movies here, but technically the character Wonder Woman did come before the character Captain Marvel, so it could go that way too.) Both feature powerful female superheroes leaving the homes they've always known to bring their battles to Earth (or C-53 to the Kree) with new friends, high stakes, and a movie audience ready to see the origin stories of the women teased in preceding superhero team blockbusters.

But the similarities end there.

Wonder Woman is a story of maturity. Captain Marvel is about identity and self-empowerment. The latter's message is significantly easier to communicate, and to a broader audience, and is accordingly more lighthearted than its DC counterpart--at times childish enough that I felt as if I were watching a PG-rated kid's flick. (And it very well could have been, if the action were toned down a notch and the one use of strong language removed.) The point is driven home with all three minority protagonists securing yet another win for Earth and tying up loose ends. Not all of them, of course. What fun would the Marvel Cinematic Universe be if one movie didn't tie into another?

That said, I would have preferred something more than a deus ex machina (AKA magic glowing Carol Danvers) to save the day, but for the purposes of this movie it fits, and is frankly inevitable.

Conclusion: Good for families with young kids and dripping with positive messages. The cinematic equivalent of elevator music: nice to see and notice, but lacks the gravity for anything more.
