Good. Worth the wait. The actors playing dual roles is impressive. Jordan Peele is a good story teller. Good cast as well.

Terrible, weird, waste of time.

An enjoyable horror film with a "not-by-the-numbers" style and underlying dark humor. It isn't necessarily full of seething cerebral horror, jump scares, or excessive gore you'll find in most horror movies. It's more like a very long, suspenseful episode of The Twillight Zone (of which the director is currently a showrunner to). No, it isn't as clever as the directors previous film "Get Out", but those who come down too harshly on Us are holding it to a standard higher than 99% of other horror movies. Horror movies are meant to be more than a bit absurd, and Us presses the absurdity in a non-generic way. As an added bonus, most of the main cast are people of color, and they aren't there to bolster the hero, for murder fodder or to pepper the story with stereotypical catch phrases. With that said, I would hate to surmise that many of those that disliked this movie (as with "Get Out") dislike it for socio-political or casting reasons rather than substantive ones. Taken for what it is, Us is a really fun ride.

Actually didn't mind this movie, usually don't like this genre. A little slow in some parts.
Love how it ends.

Badly-made movie.

Doesn't matter, I guess: a huge money-maker at theatres.

But the seemingly mindless gore-fest mattered enough that I said goodbye after about half an hour. But puzzled: Why would Elizabeth Moss--co-star of Mad Men and prize-winning star of Handmaid's tail submit to being a co-star in this shock-for-shock's sake horror film? Nothing to do for the summer so kept busy on this? Dunno.

However, curious enough that I read a quick overview of what happens in the rest of the movie. There's some good possibilities, there, much more than the schlock stuff in the first 30 minutes would indicate.

Movie-makers must know what sells, though. Cost $20 million (fairly cheap) to make. Brought in $255 million. Casting Elizabeth Moss undoubtedly helped.

Wow, absolutely fantastic. From a purely cinematic standpoint, it was perfectly put-together. It had big shoes to fill because everyone wants to compare it to "Get Out," but apart from being a horror film by the same director/writer, it really is its own piece. Without "Get Out," this would not have been made. Because of "Get Out," I think that some people have been more critical of it than they would have otherwise.

Nope. Don't need to ever see another movie with this writer or this director.

Colossal waste of almost 2 hours watching this masterpiece of crap. Rented it from the library so at least I didn't pay for it. The acting was pretty good (the kids) but the story line is just unbelievable. Maybe it should be rated as a comedy rather than a horror. Quite laughable when the police are called the dispatch tells them it will be 14 minutes...guess what? They never did arrive. Kind of like the plot lumbering along the tracks then it derails into a big mess. You better off rewatching the movie Jaws.

Gotta go with the disappointed viewers. The first part is great, but by the time the twist sets in, everything just becomes a mess. I preferred the movie when it was being a horror-comedy rather than some conspiracy thriller.
