This show was way too violent for me. Had to stop after three episodes.

Based loosely on Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan character. Enjoyable series.

If you enjoy “Homeland” this is equally as good... just with a bit more violence.

Story is good but English subtitle was junk, I mean it is series of symbols, no one can read. I do not understand French nor Arabic ( I think that what they are speaking.) So I have to guess at half of the story. Need redone on translation to English.

Krasinski as Ryan (co-star with his wife Emily Blunt in A Quiet Place) and veteran actor Pierce as Greer (The Wire.) Agree with other reviewers that they have great chemistry on screen, teaming up as a brainy neophyte and a seasoned officer in the CIA's Terror, Finance, and Arms Division (T-FAD). Fast paced and action packed, at least a major event per episode. As good a series on war on Islamic terrorism as Homeland.

From wiki:

The first season follows the titular CIA analyst as he is wrenched from the security of his desk job into the field after discovering a string of dubious bank transfers, which are being carried out by a rising extremist named Suleiman.

The upcoming second season has been described as following Ryan as he confronts "the forces in power in a dangerous, declining democratic regime in South America."

I love Jack Ryan. Look forward 2nd season. Much thriller and action.

Good for Clancy / Ryan fans. Liked the Greer / Ryan chemistry, and their gradual build of mutual respect. Appreciated the main antagonist having a good backstory. Overall , thought it could have been tighter. Weary of all the decent dramas that take a season to tell what would make a dense half-season.

More nuanced than Homeland. Krasinski believable as a smart, skilled and haunted Jack Ryan. Recommended.

This was a lot of fun. Based on the books but not bound to them. It is timely issues rather than sticking with the 80s-90s themes in the book. Good acting by most, a couple of very good actors. Scripts are well done and hold together well so I didn't feel I'd been let down at the end.

I love America. Where are you from?
Greer: Cincinnati. It's a city.
And you, my friend? Where are you from?
Ryan: Don't worry about where I'm from.
You don't like me. You think you're the good guy, I'm the bad guy. Maybe you're right. But maybe, if I was born in a nice city in America, like Cincinnati I could be the good guy, too. Geography is destiny, my friend. The world is the kiln, we are the clay.

Could've stopped it.

Our prophet was honest and humble. He set a good example for us. But this man he was never a good example for you. He enjoyed the lavishes of life and never cared for your interests. Instead of being a good shepherd he acted like a wolf.

I was struck by the words of the Prophet, "No man is a true believer unless he desires for his brother that which he desires for himself." And I felt like it was a very important lesson. Okay. See you around, bright boy.
