The kid Dustin has teeth this season. What a wonderful child actor as so few can be this natural. I can only think of Natalie Wood as good (Miracle on 34th Street).

I was very disappointed by this second season. The delightful friendship and camaraderie between the kids was lost this season - and that makes the show - honestly, it isn't the scary stuff, it is how fun this group of kids is to spend time with, and all the 80s nostalgia. A lot of swearing by middle school kids, which was incredibly unsettling, and a lot of yelling and screaming at each other instead of treating each other like friends and working things out they would just yell and scream at each other and be mad at each other until one of them later figured out they were wrong, then they'd be all good again. Do people really act like that in real life? I don't mean do people fight, that happens, but at every little thing, they yell and scream, and then later when they realized they were wrong, they would all act like the yelling and screaming and hurtful things did not happen. I do not know anyone who acts/lives like that in real life. So weird. Also, Episode Seven had such thinly drawn characters. Funshine, Axel, Dottie and Mick are all such shallow characters. That episode felt like such a large drop from the normal depth and gravitas of the season. Overall, I still really enjoyed the story and hope season three gets rid of the swearing, cussing, and overall tone of disrespect and mistreatment - that made season two almost unenjoyable.

Takes the ball from the first season and sprints into a whole new, much larger stadium.

Okay. Enough metaphor.

Another season of excellent character work and unexpected plot turns. The actors are fantastic, especially considering how young many of them are. Even the most minor characters get to be specific and interesting. Love this show.
