TH and I thought it was a good send-up of Hollywood style who-done-it murder mysteries. Unreliable narrators abound in this tale of murder, mayhem and greed. It was nice to see Chris Evans play against type and we thought Daniel Craig enjoyed playing this detective, who is definitely no James Bond. Although his Southern accent could have used some work (another character comments on his "foghorn leghorn speech".

Overtly political. At best, an collection of semi-amusing scenes, including two fun monologues by a central character. At worst, overblown, clichéd characters maneuvering their way through an illogical plot with improbable tangents.

A fantastic who-dun-it that has all the elements of an Agatha Christie story. The gothic mansion, the reclusive author, the privileged family on the verge of being cut from the will, and of course the obligatory body found in the study. Just when you think the murderer just might get away with it, the brilliant detective gathers the suspects for the big reveal.

Delightful murder mystery with lots of twists and turns and surprises . Large cast of well known actors . Liked that this movie wasn't deep and dark . Light and actually humorous . Enjoyed it better than some I have watched .

I agree that this film is reminiscent of Murder on the Orient Express. Unfortunately, it drug out the scenes too far without adding to the mystery. It was just ok.

The mystery was good, but it was so incredibly slow. The film would have been so much better if they had condensed it and made it 30-40 shorter.

An entertaining mystery with a fantastic cast of characters. There are plenty of twists and turns in this one.

To start, I have never enjoyed "Murder on the Orient Express" or similar movies. And this film has a lot in common with all of that.
Some of the acting is probably quite good. On appearance of Daniel Craig I was surprised by his performance. I smiled & thought I was about to be entertained.
I couldn't make it halfway through...
So I have to say I suspect some are going to love this, I obviously did not.

"I spoke in the car about the hole at the center of this doughnut. And yes, what you and Harlan did that fateful night seems at first glance to fill that hole perfectly. A doughnut hole in the doughnut's hole. But we must look a little closer. And when we do, we see that the doughnut hole has a hole in its center - it is not a doughnut hole at all but a smaller doughnut with its own hole, and our doughnut is not a hole at all!"

I read a tweet about a New Yorker article about you. You’re famous.

28 quotes in IMDb and they are all good. Thanks to its contributors. There are no doubt a few more memorable depending on one's interest. e.g.

One thing I assume of age is weariness. Damned if I don't get more tired every day. Tired of what I do. Following arcs like lobbed rocks, the inevitability of truth. But the complexity and the gray lie not in the truth but what you do with the truth once you have it.
