I absolutely loved this series! Now just bummed there's no season 2 yet

Really, really good! Good acting, good script, good stories. There was not a single unlikable character. Some did try to be a bit gruff or sarcastic but eventually we learned they were good people also. This is for sure the best series I have seen that is not a mystery/cop/spy series which is my preference. I can't compare it to the original series but I don't see how it could have been better than this. It is a good series for the family but not a smarmy series along the lines of a Hallmark movie. And the scenery was the best I have seen in any British or Scandinavian series. If you have watched any of the Heartland series, you know the scenery in that is beautiful. Well, the scenery in this one makes Heartland look like it was filmed in an inner city. If I had to find something wrong, it would be that there was only 7 episodes. Looking to season 2 and hopefully many more after that.

Go into this expecting that there are definitely some differences between this and the original series.

I thought this was a very pleasant and heartfelt recreation. It's just sad that Dame Diana Rigg is no longer around to be in the second season.

Samuel West (as Siegfried Farnon) is just wonderful! My other favorite character is Mrs Hall, who technically is housekeeper at Skeldale but for Siegfried, Tristan, and James she really wears many hats.

The scenery and animals are all gorgeous. The storylines are engaging. Overall it's a really good series to relax with if you want something cozy. I'm excited for the 2nd season!

Learned from past mistakes, I usually now avoid giving a "well done" comment until after the series is over, just in case it takes a weird kind of turn. This series I will however make an exception. Well done. Truly amazing "How" true art with a message can be found in such a simpler time. Thanks PBS for that. Can't wait to see the next series.

Exceptional. I loved the original but this is a very worthy remake.

Becoming legendary! This story never grows old. Season 2 in the works.

Just what the doctor (looking at you, Dr. Fauci) ordered during the (with any luck) waning days of the pandemic. The actors, the new variations from the original (Mrs. Hall's expanded role) and perhaps most of all, the gorgeous Yorkshire countryside make this reboot a must-see. Not kidding when I say I forgot all my worries as I watched these characters (both human and animal) and their stories. So glad season two is on its way!

This TV series adaptation of James Herriot's memoir of the same name is like a warm hug for the world weary soul. I love all the animal and human characters James cares for as a veterinarian in 1930s Yorkshire, England. There's are no villains, only good people who want to do the right thing, no matter the obstacles thrown at them. The Yorkshire Dales, where this series was filmed, is so picturesque, I want to sell up and move there and just read books and take long walks. The actors, especially the late Diana Rigg, really embody their characters and have great on-screen chemistry. I would recommend this series anyone who enjoys charming British memoirs, like "Call the Midwife."

EXCELLENT! 😍Loved it all the way through....Everything about this version is top notch...scenery, acting, animals featured, all the characters, comic relief, story line of each segment...Get in line folks! It is a great get away without leaving your chair. Can't wait for Season 2!

A delightful, gorgeously-filmed show that didn't disappoint someone who loved the original series. Samuel West is a perfect Siegfried - perhaps a little less frenetic than Robert Hardy's portrayal in the old show. Love the gentle comedy and the gradual bonding of the characters - a balm for these challenging times.
