An exceptionally well written book about a subject that focused the attention of many in the 1960’s. Readable, incisive, precise and written with a kind of precision of someone who was there (he wasn’t.) Many of those of us who were alive at the time of the first lunar landing will be able to tell exactly where we were to the time of that memorable event much as we can tell where we were at the time of the Kennedy shooting. For those who want the answers to the question “What did the space program actually accomplish?” The answers are here. For those who might ask “Did the space program actually do anything new?” The answers are here too. A book that should be read by the skeptics as well as those who endorse our venture into space. With over a hundred pages of notes and bibliography. A gold mine.
