Although an overall similar plot to Hamlet, I found Macbeth to be much more interesting! The characters had stronger personalities, and there were multiple side-plots. I enjoyed the in-depth character and plot developments, along with the incorporation of magic and witches, which created a more intriguing scene. I liked how the witches spoke about the events to come in riddles, which formed a growing anticipation of the conclusion. I found the play to be very clever, and creative, and the ending left me satisfied! In conclusion, I would highly recommend this play to other readers! It is definitely worth a try! @PenelopeScriptor of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library Macbeth is a playwright tragedy written by William Shakespeare. The play starts with men talking about how great Macbeth is in battle. When we meet Macbeth, he is approached by witches who tell him that they can predict his future. They said he will become the Thane of Cawdor and king. He leaves with disbelief until he is told by the king of Scotland that he is the new Thane of Cawdor. Macbeth writes all that has happened to him in a letter and sends it to his wife, Lady Macbeth. When Lady Macbeth learns that she has the chance to become the queen of Scotland, she decides to persuade her husband to take matters into his own hands. If you are a fan of Shakespearean tragedies or a fan or fantasy stories with witches and spirits, I would highly recommend reading Macbeth. The story line is extremely engaging and their is never a dull moment. Macbeth is also one of Shakespeare’s plays that is entertaining for lots of people because of the supernatural elements to the story. Overall, if I had to rate Shakespeare’s play, Macbeth, I would rate it five out of five stars. - @Sapphirereads of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library This play shows a nobleman in the beginning who turns corrupt from power and carefully executes those who cross his path, and this all started with a witches' prophecy. Macbeth and his friend Banquo defeat a pair of armies, they get rewarded, and then Macbeth sets out to become royalty by murdering the king and his friend. Epically Macbeth is beheaded by Macduff the Scottish nobleman with the help of Fleance the son of Banquo and inherits the throne. This was a great story, and simply put, about betrayal and how people can become carried away on maintaining their riches. I really liked this play, but most people my age probably wouldn't, and it was hard to read because of the language used in Shakespearian time, also how the format was. - @Florence of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
