This series is really enjoyable and this one really resonated with me for several reasons. The first one, which is kind of silly, is that Jack Reacher and I would have attended West Point at the same time if he were a real person. Because of that, his time in the Army is a time I'm very familiar with. This particular book is set during that time, which is a departure from the previous books. The second reason this one affected me was that his mother died in this book and he realized, as many of us do, that his mother was an amazing woman with hidden depths and that he would miss her for the rest of his life. The last thing about this book was that my library's copy was printed in the UK, so the British spellings of "kerb" and "tyre" were a fun change of pace.
