I liked this book and the idea was solid for the most part. Although the story started to drop in some places and made the novel less interesting they always seemed to find their way back to chapters in the book that had more depth. The characters were well developed in this story and allowed me to get more interested in the book. I found that as the book progressed, I got hooked to the storyline. Everything was good except the ending. I found that it ended very abruptly. It left me wondering what was going to happen next. It also left me so confused to the point that I was in two minds whether I should be reading the next book or not. I would give this book 3.5 out of 5 stars. In the book, The Rise of Nine, John, Six, and Seven try desperately to find the rest of the Garde before it’s too late. The Mogadorians who destroyed the planet Lorien continue to hunt down the Garde, the small group of Loric survivors who have taken refuge on Earth. The Garde has to come together and they are Lorien and Earth’s only hope against the Mogadorian forces. During the dangerous mission at the Mogadorian base in West Virginia, John finds and rescues Nine. But even with their combined powers, special abilities also known as Legacies, they barely escape with their lives. To add to their list of problems they lose Sam in the process. Their only hope is to find Number Eight in India before they are out of time.
