A pleasant story of unlikely friendship between a pampered dog and a homeless cat who discover the challenges and benefits of their respective lives. The story builds slowly, but has a nice feel-good narrative and a gentle humour. Mo Williams' writing is a lot more 'mature' and less zany than his previous picture book series, and Tony DiTerlizzi complements the gentle mood of the text with his realistic illustrations of the characters and the settings in Paris. A surprising change from the "Pigeon" and "Elephant and Piggie" series.
