Amazing Books by Black Authors

February is Black History Month, which exists to uphold and respect Black heritage, culture, and--you guessed it--history. Black individuals have always contributed greatly to society, but have not always been (and in many cases, still aren't!) properly respected or credited for their work. I'm by NO means an expert on Black history or literature, but I've read many books by Black authors that have rocked my world. In honor of this BHM, please peruse this list of some of my personal favorite books written by Black authors. They are in no particular order--some are lighter-hearted than others, some are YA, some are adult. I tried to include various genres, too. All of them, I learned a great deal from. Many of these are about or pertaining to Black experiences, and some of them focus on other topics. But all of them are spectacular!
